Snow
summer festival:
Every year, during the first days
of June we celebrate the "Snow
summer festival". This year
we had the 14th edition of these
celebrations,
witch, over the years, has had
numerous artistic and sports personalities
from all over the world as participants.
This unique manifestation in EU
(as far as we know), takes place
for 2 days and consists of numerous,
one of a kind, sport competitions
(Balea Lake relay race, rope pulling,
paragliding from 2400m - 7873ft),
trained mountaineer demonstrations
and music held in the parking of
lot of Balea Lac, as well as Balea
Cascada.

Snow
carnival
It takes place every year in February,
this year with it's 14th edition and international participants.

is intensley courted
by skiers and snowboarders especially
because of it's thick layer of snow
lasts up to 7 or 8 months/year.
Ski is practiced in the area until
about
June, with 3 skier
cable-tranportation installations
between 2208m
(7244ft) and 1700m
(5577ft). |
